To my beautiful collective of Classic Hip Hop lovers....

I started an "IF YOU KNOW, YOU KNOW" mixtape series in 2025 and I started with the year 1988 as is Vol 1 - this volume is ALL songs from 1988 only. I started this mix with a few favorites of mine from LA given that's where I'm from - these are songs I heard on the only station that played hip hop, it was an AM station, 1580 KDAY, I start in LA and then move to the east throughout the mix - it's beyond nostaligic!

I'm working on 1989 now, these take a while to produce because there's so much music given this was the elementary years of hip hop and it was unfolding in front of our eyes for those of us who lived this in real time. For those of you who are hip hop lovers whether new or seasoned this is a great way to introduce yourself or reminisce to the amazing albums/songs that dropped in 1988. The goal is to cover every year so this will be a lifetime mixtape project lol.

For those of you who weren't around in 1988 or who weren't up on game yet, this is for you as much as it is for those of us who were! Music is medicine and it is to be shared.
